I have a 17 year old 18x36 inground vinyl liner pool. I have a Hayward S244T sand filter with the high flow multi port valve. Last summer (2019) i replaced the entire lateral assembly including the vertical center pipe, sand and the gasket in the valve. I'm still getting sand in the pool. I just had a new liner installed last week which is a deeper blue than past liners and I can really see the sand now. What else can it be? When I put the new sand in the filter I covered the hole in the vertical pipe and filled the filter half way with water before adding the sand. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The only other thing I can think of is the top assembly of the filter valve. There are times when the spring in the valve loses its tension. This can allow some sand to sneak out of the filter. The part number for the top assembly is 4703-20. Click Here to View More Details on the Valve Top Assembly
