I have a saltwater pool with a solar ionizer inside. The pool is crystal clear and the ppm of salt is 3300. I have tested the pool for free chlorine and there is no chlorine registering on my testing kit or strips. Is there a way I can be sure the salt generator is working?
We'd be glad to assist you. What is the make and model of the salt system? Are there any indicator lights flashing that normally don't?
The next thing I'd check is the inside of the salt cell to see if there is a lot of scale build- up. If so, you'll need to clean the salt cell.
I'd also test the stabilizer level. If the stabilizer is too low, the pool will have a hard time building up a free chlorine level. The same is true if the stabilizer is too high.
