I have a Stay rite p2ra5f 182L pump it's a 220 1.5 hp pump. It runs on a timer. the motor is shot. So I need to replace it. Currently the timer is set for 8 hours. So I need to replace it but I am not sure which pump to get. I was thinking about a variable speed pump but not sure if i actually really need that since it only runs 8 hours a day. So I looked at the pure pumps but i dont know the difference of 1.5 hp and a 1.5 hp uprated. I want something quiet and evergy efficient. I leave the pool vacuum running all the time and split the flow with the skimmer. Thanks...Ken

Hello Kens930s - The most energy efficient option would be a variable speed pump. We recommend the PureLine Prime model PL2605. This is a 1.65HP variable speed pool pump.
