My Jandy SHPF 1.0 pool pump started to make a loud noise when running. I am guessing the bearings.

I would like to relace the motor if it will fix this problem. Is there any way to confirm this will solve the issue?

Also, what motors are compatible? I prefere a 2 speed or variable speed since I live in CA electrictiy is expensive.

The exisitng motor is AO Smith: Century Centurion, part # 7-193993-05, type=CX, FR=Y56Y, PH = 1, Volts=208-230/115, Amps= SF7.8-7.4/14.8, Time=CONT, Enc=DP, Form=KJM, Code=j, Class=B,  other text says "1081 Pool Pump Duty Mount Horiz Vent Holes Down"

Hello Mnschu - Replacing the motor will solve your noise issue. If you're looking for the most energy-efficient option, we recommend the variable speed motor. The variable speed replacement option for the Jandy SHPF1.0 is model ECM16SQU.

We recommend replacing the shaft seal when you replace the motor. The SHPF model has used a couple different seals. What is the serial number of your pump? The serial number should be somewhere on the pump housing.
