I currently have a STA-RITE Dyna-Pro model MPRA6D-204L(3/4 hp) and the motor has gone out. I have a couple questions.

Would it be best to replace it with a 1hp motor or stay with 3/4 hp? I see you have the USQ1072 ans USQ1102 available.

Do I need to replace the seals on the pump when replacing the motor?

Would it be best to replace the complete pump or is it ok to just replace the motor? It's about 5 years old.

Thanks for any advice given?

Kevin

Hello Kevin - If you don't need the additional flow, I would stay with the 3/4HP USQ1072 motor. You'll need to upgrade the impeller and diffuser if you go with the 1HP USQ1102 motor.

We would advise replacing the seals when you replace the motor. Specifically, Keys 6, 7, and 10 on the Sta-Rite Dyna-Pro Parts Page.

I would recommend replacing the seals and motor if the pump is only 5 years old. The pump bodies can last 15-20 years.
