Ok, newbie here. We have one problem after another when messing with our pool. It has a new motor, new parts all the way through the and new grids. Here recently it always reads 40+ psi indicating clean filter. So we clean filters and the pressure works great. After 20 minutes or so it goes back up to high pressure and clean filter status. We have cleaned everything! I have checked grids for holes or wear and tear and there are none. Also when we try to vacuum it the stuff we vacuum comes out through the side holes of the pool. I obviously can't figure out what is going on. We can't keep it clear and clean... I'm about frustrated and we live in a rural area so we don't have access to pool companies. I did have one guy come look at it and he basically replaced the handle and the ORing in the filter and it went back to the same Problems so that was a waste of time and money. Please help!!

It depends on the situation. If there is a ton of debris on the pool floor you'd want to vacuum to waste. On the other hand, you would keep it in the filter position if there is not much debris.
When vacuuming your pool are you supposed to vacuum it to waste or filter?
Hello EKaser - We'd be glad to assist you. If the pool is cloudy and you can't see the bottom, the filter is probably filling up quickly. That is why the pressure jumps up after 20 minutes. I would suggest trying a product like Floc & Vac. You add this product directly to the skimmer at a rate of 8oz per 10,000 gallons. It coagulates all the fine particles in your water and drops them to the floor. At that point you can set your backwash valve to the waste position (this bypasses the filter) and vaccum the debris from the bottom.
Once the water is clear, your filter should maintain a normal PSI. As far as keeping the pool clear, check out our guide on "How to Maintain a Swimming Pool". It will walk you through the basics of pool chemistry.

Hey EKaser...juz came to know about the trouble. I wish there have been good pool companies in the area you reside in so they could have given you professional access to your problem. But there is a solution to this problem, if you don't have an access to the pool companies, you can do free pool consultation ( http://www.soldapools.com/contact/ ) and discuss with them about the issue you are facing. I would suggest you to do so. I have done this before and believe me, this really works. Have a try on it. Go ahead.
