I have a 6 year old Jandy Flopro FHPM 1.0-2-SPD pool pump that is run daily 4 hours high and 4 hours low 365 days a year in Fl. The pump is now making a screeching sound and appears to be leaking a bit from where the motor meets the pump body. Do I need a new pump and motor or can I get away with just the motor? The motor is an AO smith Century 2 speed B980. My first thought is that the bearings have failed but since I discovered the leak underneath I'm not really sure.
Pool pump or motor?

Thank you for contacting Inyo. As long as the pump housing looks good, I would replace the motor and seals. The B980 motor is no longer available. The replacement is part number UQS1102R.
The shaft seal is part number 5250-250.
The backplate o-ring is part number 5020-079.
