Just bought a new Pentair 1hp 2 speed pump, wired it per your tutorial utilizing T104 & T106 timers. Checked my wiring several times before priming the pump. Got the pump running but later I found it cutting on and back off after 15 - 20 seconds. Took the motor off and took it to a shop that deals with motors and he checked it over, everything turned freely and it operated but he found that it was pulling 18 amps without a load when the motor calls for a max rating of 6.3 amps. Any ideas. Is the motor now shot ?
