Pool chemicals have been almost perfect for about 2 months now. Then I went out to check them this last weekend and they were all high. Well most of them.
PH 80, TA 120, CH 410, FC 0, TC o, CYA 60. The pool capacity is around 23,000 Gallons. What should I do?
The pH of 8.0 can be reduced by adding 3.5 cups of muriatic acid. That will lower your 23,000 gallon pool to a pH level of 7.6. The only other concern would be the chlorine level. You'll need to shock the pool and get that free chlorine level back to 1-3 ppm.
I put the solar cover on at night to prevent heat loss and take it off most mornings so the pool is exposed to the sun pretty often through the daylight hours. The cover is never left on for more that a day at a time.
my TA shows as 130 ppm (with recommended range 80-120) the PH is 7.4 I don't see a seperate listing for CYA but I think that might be otherwise called stabalizer? if so it's 40 ppm.
I have a vinyl liner and the calcium level is 200ppm.
Hello Lewisreed - Yes, CYA is also called stabilizer. 40 ppm is a good level.
