pentair pool pump

question.  i noticed the pool motor runs but then will shut off.  i cleaned the motor screen in the volute and the strainers and went to put the screen back in and had some trouble getting it to sit. i pulled it back out and found a washer and a bolt at the bottome.  where is this from and is it something that can be fixed.

it's a whisperflo model WFE-26  1 1/2 horsepower

The parts I could think of inside the pump would be the impeller lock screw (key 14) or the diffuser set screw (key 12). Either part could be reinstalled if the pump is opened up.
