I like to keep the water in constant circulation, so I operate the pump continuously.  I only turn it off in order to clean the pool filter. The pump has operated flawlessly for six years.

Today I noticed that the LCD display was out, making it impossible to adjust the pump schedule. To repair it would require replacing the control unit, and would cost about $700.

So my question is this: Given the age of the pump, should I have it repaired, or should I replace the pump and get another six years of trouble-free operation?
