Was told by my pool maint. guy that my pump motor was dead and the replacement was a B2855 Y56Y Flange. OK, I try to save a few bucks and do this myself. Ordered the pump, it arrived and when installed it does not spin. I validated good voltage to the terminals. What I notice is the new motor doesn't have any of the same "stuff" on the back like the original one did - capacitor, rpm limiter stuff... I need confirmation I have the correct electric motor Here's the info:
The orginal motor that went bad is on a Hayward pump. It's an A.O. Smith motor. Part number: 7-196338-24 2.0 HP Y56Y (Hayward part number SP322021BE)
The new motor I was told by my pool maint. company was the replacement is a B2855, The pump recieved from Inyo is B2855 and Mfr. part number FG56AC14A01
Can we confirm that new motor is or isn't a replacement? The main difference I see is there is no capacitor or other items on the back of the new motor. But is sure does't turn when it get's 244v of power.
