Hi all, I have a hayward salt generator on my above ground pool. It is reading 2500 salt level, but when I use test strip to measure chlorine is says 9.2ppm. How can I have high chlorine with such a small salt reading?

Hi Kelvin,

The AquaRite can still make chlorine with a lower salt reading, typically the unit will shut off with a low salt message. The reason the system will shut off is that making chlorine with low salt concentrations can damage the cell. The cell still can make chlorine without issue it is just that making chlorine with low salt concentration may damage the cell.

Thank You

Patrick
