Hello,
We recently purchased a property with an inground pool. I need to replace the backwash handle but I cannot identify the exact model. The installer didn't mark which filter it is, it's either and EC-65 or EC-75. I also need to know excatly how much DE to put in the filter. The serial number is 340K28, and next to the serial number stamp it's labeled EC-1230. Pictures:

Thank you!

I forgot, I also need to replace the preasure gauge, it has cracked and no longer works.

Thank you!

In most cases, the dimensions of the tank would help us determine the model of the filter. However, the dimensions are the same on the EC65 and EC75. You can open it up and measure the flex-tubes on the inside. The EC65 has 13-3/8" tubes and the EC75 has 16-1/4" tubes.

We understand if you can't open up the filter. We've contacted Hayward to check on the serial number. As soon as they respond, we'll update you.

We heard back from Hayward. They could only tell us that it was manufactured in October of 1998. The serial number doesn't tell them the exact model. The only way to confirm the model is to measure the flex-tubes.
