Good Afternoon! I have a technical question regarding the Hayward SP2603VSP. The pump works however the buttons have no effect on the operation. For Example when power is applied the pump says to reset. I push the DISP/FUNC button and the pump goes to prime. However none of the other buttons work. The V1,V2, V3 and RUN/STOP as well as the Up and Down Arrows have no effect. I can enter test mode but cant do anything to change the functions. The pump wont retain any memory after the power is cut off. My Question is...Can the programming pad be cleaned? Can it be replaced with another from a newer pump (this one is discontinued). Are there any replacement parts for this unit? I need help with this, Hayward will not answer any of my questions. This pump cost me a pretty penny and the electricity to run it at 3000 rpm 8 hours a day is defeating the Energy Star rating.

Thank You.

Hello Billy - Thank you for contacting Inyo. You can try cutting the power off for 3 minutes. If that doesn't reset it, the motor and control need to be replaced. We would suggest something like the Century V-Green model ECM27CU

That helps a little. The power is off every day for hours on end since there is no timer function with this model. Isn't there someone in the technical dept. That can tell me if the newer models are compatible with mine. Maybe I can buy a new motor control. Or maybe Inyo will offer me a trade in on my motor control. Three years is not a long time for a motor control to go bad is it. Just the thought of spending another 6 or 7 hundred bucks hurts. Thank you for responding.

The control from a new Hayward VS pump motor will not work with your motor. You'd have to replace the motor and control. The part number would be SPX2603Z1VSPE. Unfortunately, it's in that $700 range.

We have a complete VS pump for $599. The model is PL2605
