I've got a question about the internal piping assembly of my Hayward C5030. I was performing the usual filter maintenance when I noticed a small leak (at the internal piping elbow) inside the Hayward filter. Is this by design and supposed to be there or should I replace the elbow? Hayward Filter Parts

That hole as shown in the assembly diagram is intentionally placed in this pipe.  During priming of the pump and filter, it allows air to bleed-out of the effluent water path, but due to resistance will not allow unfiltered water to exit the tank.
