I need desperate help. I'm a single mom trying to fix my green pool😕. I have neglected my pool and presto, green pool.  Its an in ground plaster pool with d.e. filter. I did have pool drained and cleaned less then a year ago FYI.  Currently my pool is green, no debris on bottom. No green on walls. (Yet) I'm trying to find out how much shock to put in to try to Slam pool like your video. I went to get a water analysis:

Free avail chlorine.  .5

Calcium hardness.    100

Total alkalinity.            50

PH.              7.1

Help please

Hi Kersaun,

Could you provide us with your Cyanuric Acid levels, this is also called CYA or stabilizer. This value is very important for us to prescribe the proper treatment. Thanks so much!

Thank You

Patrick

I forgot to ask the size of your pool, but if it is a standard 20,000 gallon pool then I would suggest to start with 9 bags of Cal Hypo Shock since you have a high CYA level you will need to use more chlorine. You will want to have your pool at shock level for 24 hours which is 39 ppm of chlorine, this means that after you add the initial dose of chlorine then you will want to regularly test your water for the next 24 hours and if your chlorine levels drop below 39 ppm then you will want to add more shock to bring up your chlorine level to reach 39 ppm. Once you have held your chlorine levels at 39 ppm for 24 hours then you can let your chlorine levels drop down to 3 ppm and then you can maintain 3 ppm for the rest of the season and your pool should be crystal clear. Below is the video that will walk you through the Slam Process.

Thank You

Patrick
