We are finally going to get to rehab an in ground pool in the home that we bought two years ago. The pool had been neglected and covered (sort of) for 3 years. We have an excellent rehab man with 30 years of experience. He's going to get the plumbing/pump all recommected. This pool is 24X36 and has a deep end with a diving board. We'd like to find a pool vac sweeper that requires the least intervention possible. Cost is also a huge factor. What brand/model do you all recommend - what questions do you have?

Hello Marty - I'd recommend the Kreepy Krauly model 360042. It only has one moving part and it's a flapper that should never have to be replaced. The maintenance is minimal. You may have to replace the seal or footpad every couple of years.

Does it run on its own or require man power to run? Is it safe for vinyl lined pools?

The Kreepy Krauly would plug into a vac line or skimmer and operate of the suction from the pump. That model, 360042, is safe for vinyl lined pools.
