Hi - I made a stupid mistake and poured about a a quarter of a bucket of Pool Filter Sand into my over ground 32' Intex Pool - I thought it was Salt . I know , I know - what an idiot. . The sand I use for the filter is #20 Pool Filtration Grade Silica Sand from P W Gillibrand.

Anyhow - I've figured out how to vaccum etc - and set the pump to " Waste" . But my question is :

Is it dangerous to have this sand in the water in the first place ? Even if I am able to vaccum it out - is it dangrous to have this in the water and is it better to drain the pool and then clean and refill it ?

We're complete novices at this - so any help is appreciated. Txs.

The sand is not dangerous and it won't ruin the water. Once you vacuum out the sand, you'll be fine with the current water.
