I've repaired my multiport valve and got my system back on line after a cleaning. When adding DE back to my system the pool became cloudy with DE being discharged. The water eventually cleaned its self back up again but does this till mean that I have a damaged DE grid somewhere in my filter?

That's great news, thanks. The water looks great right now, but my connected hot tub looks like a white sand beach from all the DE. I didn't add the DE until after the multiport repair. Any idea why the DE would discharge durring the inital 6 lbs dump into the skimmer but nothing after 24 hours?

If there is a hole in the grids or manifold, you will continue to see DE enter the pool. I think it may have been a one-time thing since you were working on the multiport valve.
