The local pool store told me I have chlorine lock and need to drain 1/2 the pool and refill. But I also have a lot of green algae. So should I drain the entire pool or will I be able to get rid of the algae once it's filled and balanced. It's an inground guinite pool.

Hello Carole,
Did the pool store tell you why they think you have chlorine lock?
Do you have the results of the tests they performed? If so please post them.
Tell us how many gallons of water the pool holds and what type of filter you have.
And yes you should be able to get rid of the algae once the pool has been refilled...but you may not need to do that. The results of the tests they performed will tell us that.
