The display reading on my salt generator has been difficult to read and is now to the point I can not read the numbers at all. What do I need to replace to be able to read the numbers diplayed?

My guess would be that the display board needs to be replaced. However, you may want to go through the flow chart below and see if that confirms that the display board is the culprit. The replacement display board is part number GLX-PCB-DSP.
