I'm trying to replace my motor.  It's 1.5 hp, and my pool is 22-25,000 gallons.  Can I put in a 2 hp motor with the same measurements and without doing any changes to my system, be ok?

Hello Tide8545 - There are several factors that go into determining whether or not you can/should go up in HP. These factors include plumbing size, filter size and electrical consumption. Check out our bog titled "Can I Go With a Higher Horsepower Pump".

A 2HP motor would bolt up to your current pump as long as it has the same frame (56J,56Y,48Y). If you decide to go with a higher HP motor, you'll need to get the appropriate impeller and possibly the diffuser.

Let us know if you decide to go down that road and we'll recommend the correct items. We'll need to know the make and model of the current pump.
